BIOAUGMENTING MICROORGANISMS IN WASTEWATER BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT TO BOOST CLEANING EFFICIENCY
Through a pilot project supported by Innovate UK, our team tested Photoclear’s bioaugmentation additive in real municipal wastewater using isolated species commonly found in the microalgae-bacteria consortia (MBC) and common conditions. The results demonstrated up to a 5× increase in nutrient uptake rates (notably ammonium and phosphate) and a measurable improvement in biomass aggregation, reducing sludge volume and improving settlability.
